Textile crafters, artists, makers: How accessible is your craft?
We are starting a new research project on accessibility in textile crafts. As researchers and crafters, we want to center community participation in our methods, so we are conducting a broad online survey as an initial scoping study.
If you have any level of experience in a textile-related craft and have encountered any accessibility issues related to crafting, we want to hear from you!
Textile crafts: (a.k.a. fibre arts) creative practices that use fabric, yarn, fibre, and other textile materials, including knitting, sewing, dyeing, and many others.
Accessibility issues: difficulties with crafting due to disabilities, physical/social barriers, chronic illness, and/or many other intersecting issues.
The survey will be fully anonymous, with options to identify yourself to the researchers and/or for public attribution. This survey should take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete the required questions, with optional questions to answer at your leisure. No compensation will be provided for survey participants.
