Join Our Co-Design Workshop: Designing Customizable VR Controllers for Gamers with Upper Limb Motor Impairments

Are you passionate about accessibility and interested in shaping the future of virtual reality (VR) gaming for individuals with upper limb motor impairments? We invite gamers with upper limb motor impairments and VR designers to participate in our co-design workshop aimed at creating customizable VR controllers for gamers with upper limb motor impairments.

Workshop Overview:

The workshop is divided into two phases: Critique Phase and Future Phase. The workshop will be conducted remotely on Zoom on two separate days with approximately a week’s gap between them. Phase 1 and 2 are expected to take 1 hour – 1 hour 30 minutes to complete. Participants will be provided with a comprehensive guide prior to the workshop.

Eligibility:

  • Gamers: Individuals aged 18 or older, fluent in English, who engage in video gaming for at least 4 hours per week and self-identify as having one or more upper limb motor impairments that hinder their gameplay experience.
  • VR Designers: Individuals aged 18 or older, fluent in English, with direct experience in designing for accessibility in any industry.

Compensation:

Participants will be compensated for their participation in the study with a $50 Amazon gift card split between Phase 1 and 2 of the workshop. After completion of the first phase of the co-design workshop, participants will be compensated with a $20 Amazon gift card. On completion of the second phase of the co-design workshop, participants will be compensated with a $30 Amazon gift card.
